Marty Kudelka's resume reads like a who's who in the entertainment industry having worked with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and countless others. Speacial guest faculty David Moore joined the Monsters family by choreographing for, and in 2010, co-directing the Monsters LA Show. Skylah Graham 11 years old use to dance competitively with the Dancenter. Three years ago her family moved to the Houston, Texas area and she came back to visit with the Hall family. Skylah traveled with us to the Monster's of Hip Hop convention last weekend in Kansas City, MO. This young lady has to be one of the sweetest and most polite children on earth. She was enjoyed by staff, parents and friends. We miss her and hope someday she will return to The Dancenter.
Some of The Dancenter students and parents offered their time to help with remodeling one of our classrooms. Following a scheduled competition rehearsal Ali Shive and Melissa Hall served the students hot dogs. Alyzabeth Barbalace, Madison Hall, Austin Nieves, Ronnie & Zachary Treadway along with Tanner Nieves removed 1050 sq ft of floor. Dads John Nicholson & Kenneth Burnett helped with the sprung floor and storage. The remodel will be finished by the time classes resume from our Thanksgiving break. The classroom remodel was to give more space to our growing Zumba Fitness classes that meets 4 times a week.
Seventeen of our Dancenter families traveled to Branson, MO this past weekend. Showstoppers has been one of our favorite conventions & competitions for many years. This year we had classes with Mary Ann Lamb dance star of 16 Broadway Shows. She was absolutely amazing. Miss Amanda was seen on the floor learning the dances with the Advanced students. Someone new to us this year was Keltie Colleen a former Rockette, NBA dancer and Disney movie Enchanted. She was a fresh new face with lots of information for dancers getting ready to enter the professional world of dance. She too was amazing and had a personality to match. Trina Simon, Radio City Rockette, Broadway dance Choreographer was a wonderful treat for our girls. She had the most amazing legs that went on forever. And last but not least the ever so handsome Geo Hubela, International dance star, America's Best Dance Crew and MTV host carried the weekend with multiple classes due to the fact that our Queen of Hip Hop Miss Dena Rizzo became ill with the flu. Doing what he does best he taught amazing routines to the Jr's & Sr's. Miss Lori even participated in his class along with Miss Amanda. They were ready and eagar to dance with the kids. It was a relaxing and fun filled weekend.
